I began my thesis at the Savannah College of Art and Design knowing that I wanted to create something that celebrated feminine courage and agency while being fun, inclusive, and relevant to a younger demographic of women. Thus, the concept for this deck of tarot cards was born, inspired by the diverse and often underrepresented stories of female heroes.

In creating this project, I researched the stories of historic and modern women from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, carefully aligning each story with a tarot card. Each card was digitally illustrated to portray key elements of the heroine’s achievements while also incorporating symbols and imagery associated with the corresponding tarot card.
